CRG Installs Catbridge Slitter in Toronto Facility

Chicago, IL, April 21, 2021 –  Channeled Resources Group (CRG), a manufacturer of blank shipping labels, release liner, and the world’s largest supplier of value-priced laminated papers and films, announced today that the company has installed a Catbridge 900 slitter at its plant in Toronto, Ontario.

The Catbridge 900 was purchased for CRG’s silicone coating division, GMC, in Toronto, Ontario. It is 50% faster and features more automation capabilities than the current slitter at this location. Channeled Resources’ GMC division specializes in narrow web, custom-coated paper release liners for the tape, sealant, envelope, graphic, and specialty markets.

The Model 900 duplex center slitter rewinder offers exceptional versatility and speed. Ideal for narrow web slitting, this slitter rewinder is capable of speeds to 2500 fpm or more, depending on the material, a 32″ rewind diameter, and a minimum 1” slit width. Advanced technologies and features precisely control roll edge quality and density.  The slitter will be used with the two coaters located in Toronto – a 40″ and 22” narrow width coater.

According to Cindy White, President and CEO, CRG, “We should now be able to slit with much greater precision, in half the time. In today’s world, if you don’t get faster and reduce waste, you won’t be here tomorrow. We are quite excited about this new piece of equipment. “
